My Profile

Where devotion meets string and silence sings

Music didn’t arrive in Shruthi’s life — it was already there, softly humming in the walls of her home, carried in the morning ragas and the laughter of a family joined by melody. Born into a lineage steeped in art, she grew up surrounded by rhythm and devotion.

Her grandfather, Vid. C. S. Nagaraja, a distinguished flautist and one of the celebrated Chilkunda Brothers, was her first teacher — introducing her to the soul of Carnatic music through the voice before she ever touched a string.

What began as early vocal lessons soon evolved into a lasting connection with the violin — an instrument that became her chosen medium of expression. Since 2010, Shruthi has been under the guidance of Vid. H. K. Narasimhamurthy, whose clarity and discipline have shaped her musical foundation. She has also trained under the renowned Akkarai Sisters, gaining from their refined artistry and precision.

Belonging to the distinguished M. S. Gopalakrishnan (MSG) / Parur bani lineage — known for its unique blend of Carnatic and Hindustani styles — Shruthi upholds a school of music that values technique, versatility, and depth. Over the past decade, she has performed in over a thousand concerts, both solo and collaborative, across India and abroad.

An A-Grade Artist of All India Radio, Mysuru, Shruthi’s music is known for its delicate balance of technical precision and heartfelt lyricism. Her bow doesn’t just play notes — it speaks, weaving emotions through every gamaka and pause, capturing the quiet poetry of devotion and joy.

With a playing style that balances tradition and innovation, Shruthi’s music reflects quiet strength, sensitivity, and the enduring discipline of her training — a voice rooted in heritage yet unafraid to evolve.
